Today's News/Rumors

One hot rumor from HockeyBuzz.com is that Evgeni Malkin may be traded to Montreal for Michael Ryder, Mike Ribeiro, Sheldon Souray and David Aebischer. Montreal also signs JP Dumont as a result of the freed up cash.

Owan Nolan officially signed with Phoenix today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Steve Shields is very close to signing with the Vancouver Canucks, reports The Province.

Vancouver is also about to sign defenseman Rory Fitzpatrick to a one-way deal. This should be official very soon. The sources are SpectorsHockey.com and HockeyTradeRumors.com

Jason Allison rumors are spreading, and it looks like he will end up in Washington or Atlanta.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are still trying to ship Nik Antropov in order to sign Anson Carter. One team that he might be shipped to is Chicago, who is the front-runner right now.

Radek Bonk rumors are also hot, and many of them having him going to Washington for a second-round draft pick. Some other teams interested are Chicago and Florida.

Evgeni Malkin also officialy sent his resignation to Metallurg Magnitogorsk. He is currently in Toronto. Source: TSN

Anson Carter might lean towards the Red Wings' offer, my sources tell me. Toronto is still a main candidate in the sweepstakes. Vancouver is not gone, as well.

Tuesday Rumours

Several sources are telling me that the Canucks are close to sending a package to Tampa Bay that includes Matt Cooke, Tyler Bouck, and a first-round draft pick for superstar Vincent Lecavalier.

Owan Nolan will sign with the Phoenix Coyotes very soon, as per Sportsnet. He will probably end his career after the 06/07 season.

Anson Carter is very close to signing with a team, according to several reports. He is down to Toronto and Vancouver.

My sources are telling me that Joe Sakic will definitely finish his career with the Canucks, probably after the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The Canucks are still looking for a backup goalie, and it will probably be Steve Shields or Brian Boucher.

Scott Gomez will be traded to Phoenix, Vancouver, or NY Islanders. Many sources are reporting this.

The Canucks may sign Peter Forsberg in the offseason, as per the TEAM 1040.
